The title of the series says it all...our goal is to provide the "Nuts & Bolts" of what people want (and need) to know about becoming better anglers and safer boaters.   Whether it's through the TV series, our social media or live appearances, we strive to provide practical, real-world information people can use the next time they're on the water.  And we do it with a smile.

We showcase fishing destinations that are favorable for smaller boats, and charter captains who are professional and personable.  We want our audience to see how much fun we're having and perhaps consider one of those destinations for their next fishing adventure.  While the series revolves around fishing, we place a high priority on safety on the water, teaching navigation skills, and boating etiquette.

Captain Cefus McRae, Host of The Nuts & Bolts of Fishing: An undeniable enthusiasm and a unique perspective that breaks the mold for typical outdoor program hosts best describes Captain Cefus.  His down-home Southern charm, contagious laugh and true passion for the outdoors are quite evident in both his informative How-To DVD series as well as his weekly TV programs.

“I really enjoy what I do, and I get so much satisfaction seeing the excitement on someone else’s face when they catch a good fish or learn how to back a trailer for the first time.” Capt. McRae says. “Our programs are all about sharing the skills and knowledge that help people have fun on the water. And the charter captains and marine industry professionals who appear on the show bring a fresh point of view each week. If someone is going to invest 30 minutes of time to watch the show, we want them to take away something they can use on their next fishing or boating trip.”

Capt. Cefus grew up fishing the freshwater and coastal areas of the Carolinas. At the age of 8, he made his first trip to the Gulf Stream with his dad and that sparked a passion for fishing that still thrives today. The captain holds a USCG Master Captain’s license and devotes many hours to helping novice boaters understand on-the-water operations, safety and basic navigation.  He is also a strong proponent of responsible management of our natural resources, and believes in keeping a few fish for the table and releasing the rest to be caught another day.

Buck, The Wonder Dog is a 3 year old golden retriever and is regular fixture on the series.  He's at home on the Wide Open II and absolutely loves to be in the middle of all the action.
